Cablefest Down Unda Tour

The Australian Waterski and Wakeboard Federation together with Cables Wake Park Penrith, Cable Ski Cairns, Suncoast Cable Watersports and Logan Cable Ski are pleased to announce the Cablefest Down Unda Tour for 2011.

With continuing success and growth internationally, the Australian cable wakeboarding industry will keep its direction flowing forward with the Cablefest Down Unda Tour for 2011. The tour program includes the four separate geographical stops, one at each of the Australian cable parks, over four consecutive weekends.

Complete with promotional activity involving all avenues of media, live web coverage in Penrith, attractive sponsorship package, national and local business involvement, the public, and of course the best cable wakeboarders in the world, the Cablefest Down Unda Tour will put Australian cable parks on the International map.

Some of the biggest cash prizes yet to hit the Australian shores will be awarded to place getters throughout the tour.

Tour Dates

Stop 1: CWWC Tour Stop Penrith, Cables Wake Park Penrith April 29th – May 1st

Stop 2: Cairns cable Pro AM Event, Cable Ski Cairns, May 7th 2011

Stop 3: Bli Bli Open, Suncoast Cable Watersports, May 14th 2011

Stop 4: Rider Fest, Logan Cable Ski, May 21st 2011

Each tour stop will be run by IWWF format and rules where each rider will start their competition pass at the 1st obstacle located after tower 3 and finish at the last obstacle before tower 1. Riders must complete a run consisting of slider, kicker and air tricks in their pass.

Each rider is given 2 passes and only the best pass will count as their overall score.

Judges will award a maximum off 100 points to a rider for their overall impression of each run performed. Riders will be scored up to 50 points based on their technical performance and their impression. The highest scoring run wins. See cablewakeboard.net for official rules.

Wakeboard Categories

Mini Boys & Mini Girls: 2000 or later (Under 12)

Boys & Girls: 1996 or later (Under 16)

Junior Men & Junior Ladies: 1992 or later (Under 20)

Open Men & Open Ladies: No age restriction

Amateur Mens & Ladies: No age restriction (this category does not allow points towards world rankings)

Masters Men & Masters Ladies: 1978 or before (Over 30)

Veterans Men & Veterans Ladies: 1968 or before (Over 40)

Wakeskate Categories

Junior Men & Junior Ladies: 1992 or later (Under 20)

Open Men & Open Ladies: No age restriction

There will be a minimum of 6 riders to open a category, with the exception of mini bots and mini girls where 4 riders are required.

If a category has less than the minimum required, riders will be added into similar categories.

Riders will be notified as soon as possible if there are insufficient riders to open a category.

Australian Cablefest Down Unda Tour Champions

Results from each tour stop will collate and after all events are complete, overall division tour champions will be named at Cable Ski Logan on May 21st. After each event scores will be posted and the rider with the most points at the end of the tour will win the title for their division. Each tour stop will count towards overall points tally so ensure you compete in all tour stops.

How to enter:

Riders must be a current member of the AWWF or of the respective federations in their country.
