Brenton and Mitch: Roots n’ all

We love the direction wakeboarding has been heading lately, and this is a celebration if it. Check out this clip from The Blue Circle, in a behind the scenes look at an up-coming Wake Mag exclusive.

If there were no competition in wakeboarding, there’d be no distinct level of which to aspire to. And in the same regard, if there were no free riders exploring the possibilities, we’d no nothing but riding behind a boat in a straight line, linking trick from wake-to-wake.

In the July issue of Wake, we will be celebrating this with a unique feature starring free-riding legends Brenton Priestley and Mitch Langfield.
Both Brenton and Mitch have been at the forefront of explorative wakeboarding. From Brenton’s passion for jibbing and taking wakeboarding to the streets, to Mitch’s board-riding inspiring perspective of what can be done between two wakes – the two are, in my eyes, at the forefront of wakeboarding progression as we know it.

An idea was spawned by Wake Mag contributing photographer Dave Barker, to build some rails from scratch using objects that would normally be considered junk. Yes, this is something we’ve seen before – when the all-time rail rider Josh O’Connell came together with a handful of others to film and shoot a rail session amongst a twisted heap of rusty, scrap metal. But it’s been a while since someone has come up with an idea, and seen it through to produce an editorial piece such as this. And what better two riders to be involved – the constructive trouble makers, Brenton Priestley and Mitch Langfield.
