The Australian Open has been created by Wakeboard Australia this year to showcase boat competition & our enormous talent pool in Australia. With only a handful of Pro Level boat comp’s in Australia this season, this series promises to be huge. The overall winner will receive Australia’s only wildcard spot in next years IWWF World Wakeboard Cup stop, to be held in Perth WA. Unless you have already prequalified at a previous World Cup stop, this is the only way to get entry to this prestigious event.
Upon official announcement from the West Australian Government (hopefully mid December 2011) that Perth has managed to secure an IWWF World Wakeboard Cup Stop all riders registered in the Mens and Womens Pro Division of the Australian Open Wakeboard Series will be eligible to win a wild card to the World Cup Stop on the 17th and 18th March 2012 (one Pro Mens, one Pro Womens)
Eligibility – the recipient of the wild card will have to have ridden in both rounds of the Australian Open Wakeboard Series, be an Australian Citizen, full AWWF member and be prepared to ride in the Wakeboard Australia Nationals 2012 to be held in Perth 4 days prior to the World Cup Stop
