Malibu 23VLX01/04/2008
Malibu Boats has upped the ante again with the introduction of the 23ft (7m) LSV to Australia.

In Wake Volume 12 Issue 5 we check out this monster Malibu.

Until now, the VLX (at 21’ 6”) was the biggest Malibu built Down-under.

For those of you familiar with the size and space of the VLX, it will come as no shock that the LSV is huge inside.

We had the chance to see the first Wakesetter 23LSV off the line at Lake Hume during February. The boat looks huge on the trailer, and equally as impressive running across the lake. Despite its size though, it is nicely proportioned, looks good from all angles and is definitely recognisable as a Malibu.

The 23 LSV has utilised Malibu’s latest generation design cues like the optional Cut Diamond hull and frameless vented windscreen. In fact, it is of similar design to the smaller 20ft VTX, which was released with great success last year (and quickly became Malibu’s most popular model).

Malibu’s sales and marketing manager, Simon Hill, said there had been demand for a bigger Malibu for some time.

The previous 23ft model available in the US was only marginally bigger inside than the current Wakesetter VLX. However, the new 2008 23 LSV utilises its external dimensions well to offer significantly more interior space than the VLX (which is already pretty massive inside).
